The James H. Booton Rising Star Award is an annual recognition program established in 2003 by the County Commissioners’ Association of West Virginia. This award provides an opportunity for board members to honor the exceptional leadership exhibited by individuals.
The Rising Star Award is presented to a County Commissioner who:
- Has demonstrated extraordinary commitment and dedication to preserving the responsibilities of their office.
- Has made significant contributions to the betterment of county government in West Virginia.
- Goes above and beyond their regular duties to promote the growth and success of the community.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment in working vigorously to advance its objectives and preserve the responsibilities of the county commissioner’s office as well as the goals of the CCAWV.
Through this award, the CCAWV Board of Directors recognizes the critical role played by this County Commissioner in promoting the welfare of county government in West Virginia and advancing the goals of the Association.
(Members of the CCAWV Board of Directors are not eligible.)
