The County Commissioners’ Association’s Board and Legislative Committee met on September 16 & 17, 2012 in Charles Town, WV for their fall meeting. The meeting went very well and we would like to thank everyone who attended for their time and efforts. Thanks also to the Jefferson County Commission for being such great hosts. We appreciate everyone’s support.

One of the priorities of this meeting is adopting an agenda for the 2013 session of the Legislature. This year a major concern is the continued increase in regional jail costs. Because of the major impact these rising cost are having on county budgets, the board has decided to have
a special meeting, to discuss problems and brainstorm ideas and possible approaches to cost containment solutions. This Jail Costs' Summit will be held at the Hilton Gardens Hotel in Clarksburg, Harrison County, October 14 & 15, 2012, and all CCAWV members are invited to participate! A registration form will be faxed to your county soon, please mark your calendar and join us!

Our annual Regional Roundtable Meetings are also scheduled to begin in November and we'd like to encourage everyone to participate in your particular region where we will be discussing local issues as well as those that are adopted by CCAWV and important to all counties.
