The Governor held the first meeting of his, “WV Blue Ribbon Highway Commission” on September 14, 2012. Governor Tomblin reviewed the goals of the commission to be completed before the 2012 Legislative Session.

The main responsibility of the commission is to maintain and repair the existing highways and bridges in the State of West Virginia. We need to find more efficient cost containment methods and come up with more sources of funding.

Maintaining the highways is essential to the economic development of the State. The next meeting will be held on October 19, 2012 and I will keep you updated. These meetings are open to the public.
